Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 has introduced by the company as an update to the Huawei Y5 2017 budget smartphone. The 2018 comes with a bezel-less display which flows with the current trend.

Looks totally different from last year’s edition, but not entirely different from what we’ve seen from the company this year. Just like other budget friendly smartphones from the company, the Y5 Prime 2018 sports a Plastic body with a Metal frame that’s stunning and beautiful.

There’s no fingerprint scanner anywhere on the device, this might be a disappointment to many. The rear camera and LED are horizontal at the top left corner. It measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs just 145g overall. You can get it in Black and Blue colors.

Battery

Powering the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 is a 3020mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739 chip with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here runs at a fast speed of 1.5GHz with 28nm process technology. In terms of graphics, the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor takes charge and clocks at 570MHz.

For multitasking, 2GB RAM space is available here, boasting of a memory speed of 667MHz. In the storage department, there’s a 16GB internal storage space available on the device. Nonetheless, you can upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Camera

There’s an 8MP rear camera at the rear that captures stunning photographs with 3264 x 2448 pixels in dimension. The camera has f/2.2 aperture and comes with features like Panorama, continuous shooting, exposure compensation and a LED flash as well. While the 5MP selfie camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and a front LED flash.
